Get Out The Cookies Campaign: Thanking Military Recruiters

To see the original article, please visit Kristina's Soapbox.

I don't know if everyone will agree with these sentiments, but I obviously do. Without our military, we would not have a free country. Our armed forces spend their lives and careers protecting us and making sure we are able to live in a safe, free community. However, most people don't just rush out and join the military at the first opportunity. They have to be inspired to do so, and that is where military recruiters come in. Recruiters have been getting a lot of flack the last few years (think of Berkeley... or don't, if it gets your blood pressure up) and we need to make sure they stay encouraged to keep up the good work.

Kristina is starting a campaign to have everyone who can and desires to take cookies to a recruiting station in their area on February 27th. All you have to do is make or buy cookies, walk in, hand them to someone, and walk out - easy :) Or you could make a card, or linger and say thanks, or whatever.

I suspect I will be busy that day (some of you know why), but I thought it was a neat idea.

So - cookies, to a recruiter, near you, February 27th.
